“Technology and communications have continued to evolve and now present not just striking opportunities for but troublesome challenges to participatory democracy.”
Benjamin Barber
“Three secenarios for the Future of Technology and Strong Democracy”
We operate from the conviction that the status quo of democratic practice, advocacy, and communications is deeply broken. Community organizing, issue advocacy, voter mobilization, communications - all of it is under profound disruption. Strategies that once worked now fall flat, and assumptions that once seemed solid are increasingly fluid.
We look especially for opportunities that are undervalued, unconventional, and portable - early enough to shape, proven enough to travel.
